Megamind (2010)

Dreamworks may play second fiddle to Pixar, but there are some undisputed gems in their back catalogue.......Chicken Run (2000), Shrek (2001) Shrek 2 (2004), How To Train Your Dragon (2010). I even really like Antz (1998). This week, I'm going to add Megamind to this list. The premise is a good one, two alien babies land on earth after their homes in outer space are destroyed, one crashes in a rich persons estate and one lands in a prison. One goes on to become Metroman, a Superman like figure who protects Metro City from his arch enemy, Megamind.....who happens to be the other baby brought up in a prison. After Megamind defeats Metroman for the first time early in the film, he begins a character arc of change, once he realises he is lost without the man he thought he hated the most. You might be able to read where the film is going, but Megamind has been harshly swept aside by many. It looks terrific, the voice performances by Will Ferrell and Brad Pitt especially are fantastic, and it is very, very funny. Hugely enjoyable. 7.1/10

I'm Christian and like everyone, I'm a film critic in the sense that I enjoy watching any film at any time, discussing it, and in the last few years putting pen to paper to offer my thoughts.
