Onward (2020)

Going to see Onward on its release included that special experience of bringing my daughter to the cinema for the first time (well, the first time she'd made it through the pre-film adverts anyway, she was only 2) and Onward was the most appropriate film screening at the time. She's already seen Tenet. (Just kidding). Disney/Pixar, like they so frequently do, mesmerise with their world building, crafting a a beautiful scope of imagination set in a place that used to be magical, but now relies on gas an electricity to get by. Onward is a tale of brotherly love, encapsulated in a quest of touching sentiment, and is thrillingly enjoyable. Although it doesn't hit the heights of Monsters, Inc (2001) or Toy Story (1995) (what does) this was one of the best Pixar films I've seen in a while, and my daughter sat through the entire film to boot. Gold. 7.6/10

I'm Christian and like everyone, I'm a film critic in the sense that I enjoy watching any film at any time, discussing it, and in the last few years putting pen to paper to offer my thoughts.
