This film sees Dolph Lundgren put in charge of protecting the briefcase that holds the President’s (Roy Scheider) nuclear codes. From minute one the lunacy is rife, there’s an early car chase that seems to be drawing to a conclusion when both cars reach a rooftop, only for it to continue for several minutes as the cars then begin to jump from rooftop to rooftop. It’s difficult to criticise The Peacekeeper for being ludicrous, it’s a straight to DVD B-movie that knows exactly what it is, and plays out as such. Lundgren seems to have fun, although the way he runs, especially in the missile complex that houses the last third of the film, is bizarre to say the least. I don’t really know why Roy Scheider is in this film but he certainly doesn’t do anything wrong, despite having to deal with a plot that tries to complicate its simplicity in fairly boneheaded fashion. But it is what it is, and passed ninety minutes fairly entertainingly. 4.5/10

I'm Christian and like everyone, I'm a film critic in the sense that I enjoy watching any film at any time, discussing it, and in the last few years putting pen to paper to offer my thoughts.
